Christmas Eve!

On this past Christmas Eve, Mommy and I had a special outing.  Daddy had to work in the morning so Mommy made a last minute decision to go explore the holiday sights around downtown Cincinnati.  Our first stop was to the Krohn Conservatory and to see the Nativity Display.  Mommy told me how her family used to visit the display every Christmas when she was young.  I really liked the display.
Mommy said the display looks just the same!
After walking through the Nativity display we headed into the Conservatory to see the poinsettias and the train display.  We really liked this display, it had many of Cincinnati's best known landmarks and buildings created out of twigs, bark, branches, etc.  And intertwined throughout the whole display were trains.

The incline was pretty cool!

It was raining when we left the conservatory and we thought about heading home; but since Mommy and I were having so much fun we wanted to keep exploring.  We headed downtown.  I think it is fun to visit downtown and see all of the big buildings.  We started at Fountain Square then went to the Westin Hotel.  They had a nice Christmas tree, but more important there was the Skywalk to take us to the Carew Tower instead of walking in the rain!  Mommy heard that there were some Shillitos elves on display here and she wanted to check them out.  This was another thing she remembered from her childhood!

From here we headed to the Omni-Netherland Hotel.  There they had a gingerbread display of the city's skyline.

It was neat to see, but it did make us rather hungry and Mommy decided we need to head back toward home.  Afterall it was Christmas Eve and we needed to get ready for S.C.  We headed back to Fountain Square.  As we approached the square we noticed that a penguin was hanging out there too.  (Don't worry he had a zookeeper with him!)  And Mommy and I posed for one last picture in front of the Christmas tree!
